Turkey Day is Fast Approaching

When asked about the most stressful week of the year, Google was asked to compile data that identified the most website hits for anti-depressant medication....the answer was shocking to me...it's Thanksgiving week. Is it really that bad to be with your family...(don't answer that)...Here are some holiday memories I have...

This is a link Devereaux Street in Philly...Home of Uncle George...One of the highlights of my childhood was riding over there with my dad and brothers...usually didn't do this on Thanksgiving though since Uncle Joe and Aunt Mary would pick him up on this day, but Thanksgiving wasn't Thanksgiving without Uncle George...

Fennel and Black Olives come to mind...

Some Creamed Onions

Assorted Nuts

...a little escarole soup

can't forget the Lions

...and Dallas

almost forot turkey bowl...although I think I'm officially retired (but I'll let you know last minute..ala Favre)

Bad or Good?

Are there really ever any bad kids this time of year? I have yet to find one. Perhaps it's because we enjoy giving so much, that we want to believe we're all good.....Perhaps not.

A Day in the Life of the Cents Family

This is Frank's family and his brother, Makesno's, family. So here we have a combination of Frank N. Cents' family and Makesno Cents' family.....Pictured with the kids is the maternal matriarch, Non. Non Cents was the daughter of Italian first generation Americans, Hu and Rita Nu. Hu and Rita gave birth to Non back in 1943. Because Non was an awnry little girl, Rita Nu and Hu Nu were often heard scolding their daughter, "Non Nu! Non Nu! get over hear this instant!!"....but I digress.... Non eventually grew up and married the eldest son of the Cents family, Horse. Now Horse Cents was also known to be a bit awnry. My paternal grandparents, In and Two Cents, were not the most loving couple. In Cents was very possesive and chauvinistic. He would often refer to my grandmother as "his" as if she was his property. In fact, sources say while living in Oak Sun, NJ, In Cents was seen throwing "his" Two Cents around and blamed her for her lack of Horse Cents' behavior .....but again I digress.....After Non and Horse Cents married, it wasn't long before they gave birth to our eldest brother, Nu. Nu took on our maternal grandparents surname. Now Nu Cents was a gifted artist but unfortunately Nu's life was cut way too short. His legacy lives on however. My father constructed a handicap ramp in honer of him at our childhood church and now everyone in our hometown is reminded of the infamous Nu Cents.....So now you know the history of the Cents family. Enjoy! (but please refrain from inappropriate comments....use your Common Cents)

I started this site for one reason and one reason only....My mother. The constant badgering was getting to me. "Where are those pictures?", "When are you going to send me those pictures?" "I'll never see those pictures you just took, will I?"...... Well Mom, here they shall be from now until the spirit moves me.....Love Frank.

Mr and Mrs Frank N. Cents and Family

What a day it was....the Cents family gathered together along with their extended family in celebration of a major milestone.....The 50th wedding anniversary of Mrs. Cents' parents....Ty and Corn Cobb.

Frankincense - What is it?

Perhaps the best known reference comes straight out of the bible. Frankincense was one of the gifts the three (3) wisemen took to Jesus shortly after His birth. The others were gold and Myrhh. According to Wikipedia....Frankincense or olibanum (Arabic language: لبٌان, lubbān) is an aromatic resin obtained from trees of the genus Boswellia, particularly Boswellia sacra (syn. B. carteri, B. thurifera) (Burseraceae). It is used in incense as well as in perfumes.

Look at the angels. It will be McKenna's 1st birthday tomorrow (that would be the little red head.....)
